Break came at wrong time for Dundee boss Paul Hartley

Managers all over Scotland have been thankful for the international break but Dundee boss Paul Hartley isn’t one of them.

While some look upon the enforced rest as a time to recharge the batteries, the former Scotland midfielder would have preferred to have his side playing matches to maintain the momentum generated by a four-game unbeaten run.

Now though, he cannot wait to get going again this weekend with a daunting trip to Celtic Park in a bid to extend that sequence of results.

When asked if the international break had come at the right time for Dundee, Hartley said: “No, I don’t think so.

“If we were looking to get players back fit then it has but we were wanting to keep the momentum going that we have had over the last four games.

“It hasn’t come at the right time which is unfortunate.

“Some managers may disagree but not for me. We just wanted to keep it going and getting good results.

“But we go into the game against Celtic and we are looking forward to it.”
