The Dundee players celebrate Kane Hemmings' goal.

Dundee boss Paul Hartley was satisfied with a point as his players drew yet another match.

It finished 1-1 against St Johnstone in Perth last night and that meant it was the fourth successive time the Dens men have finished all square with their opponents.

However, this was another decent display from Hartley’s men to follow the holding of Hearts at Tynecastle last weekend.

They got off to a brilliant start with a third-minute strike from Kane Hemmings, with David Wotherspoon levelling for Saints on 13 minutes.

Hartley said: “We have drawn a lot of games but, of course, we’re not losing them.

“We’re not too far away.

“That is because we have good players and a good work ethic.

“The performances in the last two matches have been excellent.

“Hearts and St Johnstone were the form teams in the league and we have put in two very good performances.

“We put out a very attack-minded line up.

“The first half was open and end-to-end at times.

“I was very pleased with the way we started the game.

“We were really at it from the first minute and the goal we scored was great.

“The first half was open and end-to-end at times.

“Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart have a good understanding and I thought they both played really well.”

There was what looked like an injury scare for the visitors when defender Julen Etxabeguren hobbled off.

However, Hartley revealed: “Julen came off at the end but it was just cramp.

“He has not played a lot of football in the last few months.”
