Hull City could be set for a second raid on Dundee United after jumping to the head of the queue of clubs interested in the Tannadice side’s attacking midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
The English Premiership side, who signed Andrew Robertson from United for a fee reported to be £3million in the summer, are keen to build on that success by tempting a second starlet south
Burnley, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City are all also believed to be interested in the Scotland under-21 player.
However, the KC Stadium side’s chief scout Stan Ternent is now personally watching the 22-year-old in action.
Ternent took in Friday night’s game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park along with the player’s representatives, the Pro Legal group, who also look after Robertson.
Armstrong, who made his debut almost four years ago, still has 18 months of his current deal remaining, which could push the price up if Hull look to sign him when the transfer window opens up in January.
