Dundee United coach Darren Jackson insists there is no danger of complacency creeping in at Tannadice.
The Tangerines host Scottish Premiership strugglers Ross County on Saturday, with some bookmakers offering odds as short as 2-5 for a home win.
A look at the form book tells you why that is the case, with United having scored 21 goals and conceded just five in five consecutive victories.
County, on the other hand, last won on October 5 against Aberdeen and have suffered six defeats and a draw since then.
Every man and his dog with the possible exception of some in Dingwall expects United to beat Derek Adams’ team quite comfortably.
However, Jackson stressed that the players will be giving the opposition complete respect and won’t just think the Highlanders will roll over.
Asked if the expectation on the team to see off County was a worry, Jackson replied: “It can become a problem if the dressing room lets it become a problem.
“However, I can’t see that happening here. There is no complacency. There is no talk about we can do this or that.
“When you look at the young kids in the side you realise they will get even better, that there is more to come from them as a group. Everyone wants to get better.
“You can see quite clearly in training that every player is fighting to get in the team just now. They certainly aren’t getting carried away and neither are the coaching staff.”
The feelgood factor was further enhanced this week when prize asset Ryan Gauld signed an extended deal that now ties him to the club until 2017.
Jackson argued that it was a powerful signal to the supporters that their team is not about to be dismantled.
He said: “That was a great message to the fans first and foremost. The kids all want to stay and that’s brilliant for the staff.
“The players are enjoying their football that much that they don’t want to leave just now and jump into a big move down south. As long as we can keep them here we will be over the moon.”
Boss Jackie McNamara showed at the weekend that he intends to chop and change his line-up as United head into a jam-packed festive period.
After facing the Staggies, they play St Mirren away on Boxing Day, travel to meet St Johnstone the following Sunday, host Aberdeen in the big one on Ne’erday, then are home to Hibs on January 4.
Jackson confirmed that the pack will be shuffled, saying: “Most of the squad will be used over the next few weeks for what is a hectic set of fixtures.
“Those who have been sitting on the bench have been finding it hard but there will be opportunities over the next wee while.
“The manager has been telling them how important using the whole squad will be. That goes for the rest of the season and not just the Christmas/New Year period.
“He is giving people chances and it’s up to them to take those opportunities.”
