Brechin boss Darren Dods awaits answer from Callum Tapping

Brechin boss Darren Dods will have an answer by the end of this weekend from Callum Tapping on whether he will be signing a new deal with the club.

The former Hearts midfielder was with City last season but is believed to be holding out for a return to full-time football.

Dods, who will once again play a number of trialists in this afternoon’s friendly at Raith, is still hopeful that the player will ultimately decide to stay at the Glebe.

The player/manager said: “We have had a good week’s training working on our fitness and a few things that went wrong in the Aberdeen game.

“I am hoping to bring one or two new players in over the next week or so but I find myself in the same boat as a lot of other managers at the moment.

“Players seem to be holding out for as long as possible before committing themselves so once again, I will have a few trialists playing against Raith.

“However, we will have Paul McLean fit again.

“We are still working on bringing Callum Tapping back to the club. We are really keen to have him on board and he has told us he will give us a final decision by the end of the weekend.

“I am looking for the players to get some more game time under their belts and to work on their match fitness.”

Admission Prices at Stark’s Park will be £10 for Adults and £5 for Concessions (Over 65s & Under 16s).
