Changes afoot as Dutiaume vows to stop Fife Flyers rot
ByThe Courier Reporter
Fife Flyers boss Todd Dutiaume confirmed that changes will be made after their midweek Challenge Cup humiliation by Nottingham Panthers.
The Canadian claimed there were “passengers” in the squad following the poor recent record of five straight defeats in all competitions. Dutiaume said moves were being made to recruit fresh blood.
Fife’s playcaller did admit that they were down to the bare bones with two imported defencemen sidelined, skipper Kyle Haines through injury and American giant Matt Nickerson, who has been handed a four-game ban.
The coach, who steered his men to the play-off semi-finals last season, said: “We can turn this around.
“We’re looking at options, possibly a change or two, but we need to stop the rot and stop making excuses. We need to stop blaming others and take responsibility.”
Flyers host Braehead Clan on Saturday and visit Edinburgh Capitals 24 hours later.
