Fans’ favourite Kyle Haines will wear a Fife Flyers jersey again next season.
The Canadian defenceman was a huge part of the team’s success in the latter half of the season and he wants to go one better than Elite League play-off semi-final.
Haines joined Flyers from Bakersfield Condors, of the East Coast Hockey League, and scored 11 goals and 22 assists in 41 games for the Kirkcaldy club.
The 6ft blue liner said: “I’m keen to pick up where we left off last season.
“The latter half of the season was the most fun I’ve had playing professional hockey and for that I have to thank the fans, teammates, coaches and all the staff for sticking with us.
“After coming so close to making it to the play-off championship final, it is exciting to think about what this season could bring.”
He enjoyed his spell with Flyers and added: “I look forward to building on those memories and relationships, and winning a lot of hockey games.”
Flyers head coach Todd Dutiaume said: “When Kyle expressed an interest in returning to Fife, it was an easy decision for us.
“His arrival was one of the catalysts that helped turn last season around, with his steady and consistent performances.”
