Glasgow Warriors fix on plan of attack for play-offs

Glasgow must rediscover their attacking prowess or face being blocked out of the Pro12 title play-offs, it has been claimed.

Warriors assistant coach Kenny Murray reckons his side have what it takes defensively to earn a top-four finish but, with the crucial showdown against the star-packed Ospreys looming, he and the rest of his back-room team are determined to add sharpness to their shut-out qualities.

Murray said: “We failed to turn chances into points against the Scarlets at the weekend and we are delighted to have opened up an 11-point gap ahead of them in the table.

“Now the aim is to beat the Ospreys on Friday and overtake them.

“We are aware it is another eight-pointer because they are just above us and defeat would mean we will be chasing.

“Last season, Glasgow’s attacking system took a lot of people by surprise, but teams have worked hard during this campaign at defending against that.”

Murray added: “We have two games in hand against Treviso and Edinburgh at Scotstoun and it would be really significant if we could get a try bonus in each of them.

“As far as the Ospreys are concerned, we have done a lot of analysis on them, especially when they played Cardiff last week.

Murray revealed there are no fresh injury problems in the Warriors camp in the aftermath of the 14-6 win over the Scarlets.

He also hinted that Test pair Ryan Wilson and Ryan Grant will be back in the selection shake up.
