Skoda’s all-electric little runaround, the Citigo e, has gone into production.
Sharing a platform with the VW e-UP and Seat Mii Electric, the compact model features a 36.8kWh battery, giving a very decent range of 170 miles.
It can be charged up to 80% with a 7kW source in just over four hours, or in 12.5 hours by plugging into your socket at home.
According to Skoda, the Citigo e has been re-engineered to incorporate the battery pack and electric motor, enabling the car to provide the same boot space as the petrol powered car – quite a remarkable feat.
Equally remarkable is the price – a low £16,995 (once the government’s electric car grant has been taken into account. Orders start next month with deliveries early in the New Year.
