If you’re looking for a beach holiday this summer but you’re tired of the same old places, then why not give Bulgaria a whirl?

With great deals on packages, flying direct from Scotland, you can really make your money go further and still pack in a fun filled fortnight on some of the loveliest beaches on the Black Sea coast.

A short flight of just over three hours and you could be in the award-winning purpose built resort of Sunny Beach, with its golden sands, twinkling waters and a vibrant nightlife to rival any of the Costas.

Living up to its name, Sunny Beach enjoys a fantastic climate with average temperatures nudging 30 degrees in July and August.

You certainly won’t need your coat but you will need the Factor 30! Much of the action is centred around beach life and rightly so – with such a fine stretch of pristine sands with all day and all night attractions, it’s the place to be.

This spot leaves holidaymakers wanting for nothing. There’s fairground rides, market stalls, bars, massage huts, you name it; it’s most likely here.

On the beach itself, there’s a good choice of water sports on offer if you fancy something energetic but there’s also banana boats and pedalos if you just want to mess about on the shore and enjoy the lovely warm water.

If you do feel like shaking the sand off your feet and seeing another side to the resort, the picturesque town of Nessebar is just a 10-minute drive away.

This Balkan beauty spot is packed with pretty churches, Roman ruins and there’s even a fascinating Archaeological museum.

Bulgaria is proving a popular choice among Scottish holidaymakers and with such a wide choice of things to see and do and an even bigger choice of hotels on offer, it’s easy to see why it’s one of the hotspots for summer 2017.

Here’s some suggestions on what you can get up to on your Sunny Beach adventure.
