Doctors’ surgeries across Tayside will be open on Easter Monday, in “unprecedented and challenging times”.
The Scottish Government has asked GPs to open during public holidays, to help patients with non-coronavirus related issues.
Patients have been advised to call their surgery in the first instance as many have locked their doors to prevent walk-ins.
Dr Jane Bruce, associate medical director for primary care with NHS Tayside said: “Monday April 13 is a public holiday and the majority GP surgeries across Tayside, where they are able, will be open between 8am and 6pm to support patient care for patients with non-COVID related issues.
“Patients are reminded that they should call their own surgery in the first instance for a telephone discussion regarding their non-COVID health concerns, in order to ensure safe practice at this time.”
Patients suffering coronavirus symptoms, or who need to see a GP after 6pm, are asked to call 111.
