A grieving niece has pleaded for help in catching her uncle’s killer.
Bianca Crichton’s uncle Darren Adie was murdered last weekend in Kirkcaldy.
Police are hunting for the killer and issued a fresh appeal for information on Saturday, a week after the 42-year-old father’s death.
Bianca believes someone knows what happened to her beloved uncle and spoke out on social media, urging anyone with any information to tell police.
She said on Facebook: “Someone must know something.
“Just want justice for my uncle and a little bit of peace of mind for my gran and grandad and the rest of the family so we can lay my uncle to rest.
“Wether (sic) you seen him or know anything that may seem relevant, big or small, let the police know please.”
Bianca said plenty of people were talking about Darren’s death in the Gallatown area so “someone has to know the truth”.
Darren was found unconscious and dying in the town’s Tweed Avenue on Saturday, May 28.
A neighbour reported seeing him “just drop” in the street.
Darren passed away later in Victoria Hospital.
On Saturday evening high visibility patrols were conducted in the streets around the spot where he was found at the junction with Lawson Street.
As the murder inquiry continues Police Scotland has urged anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that evening to tell them.
Detectives also want to speak urgently to anyone who anyone who saw Darren in the area, in Kirkcaldy’s Gallatown, prior to his death.
It is believed there were people in Tweed Avenue and nearby streets who may have information which could help the inquiry.
On Saturday Detective Chief Inspector Raymond Brown, of the Major Investigation Team, said: “It has now been one week since Darren’s murder and our dedicated team of detectives and local resources are continuing with their inquiries to find his killer.”
He said uniformed officers conducted patrols to speak to local residents who frequent the streets to identify anyone who may have vital information.
He added: “Anyone with information can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Following his death, Darren’s grieving family described him as a much loved son, brother and father who would be sorely missed.
His death was initially classed as suspicious but police confirmed he had been murdered after a post mortem examination last Monday.
Darren is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall with a stocky, muscular build and short dark hair.
He was wearing a blue zip-up jacket, blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
