Filming for a “large budget period drama” has been taking place at Scone Palace in Perth.
Production trailers have been spotted parked in the grounds of the estate and a field nearby in recent days.
Film crews have been using the palace’s Murray Star Maze – which is closed until Tuesday – and other parts of the site.
Rumours over Apple TV show Debutante
One source told The Courier the filming is for new Apple TV show Debutante, though this has not been officially confirmed.
The producers of the show have been contacted for comment.
Filming for Debutante – which is a working title – took place in Glasgow earlier this year and scenes have been shot elsewhere in Scotland.
Staff at Scone Palace have been told not to reveal specific details about the filming, but say a “well-known channel” is behind it and that the main cast are on site.
A spokesperson for Scone Palace told The Courier that the show is based on a book and will be released next year.
The spokesperson said: “Crew have been filming in the Murray Star Maze. Thursday is their last day.
“We’ve left the maze to get overgrown for them as that is what they were wanting so it was exactly like the book.
“The whole thing has been great and such a wonderful opportunity.
“The crew have been really lovely to work with. It has been such a good experience.
“It has helped put Scone on the map and shown that we are able to do things like this.”
A post from the palace on social media said: “We are delighted to say that Scone Palace has been chosen as one of the locations for the filming of a large-budget period drama for a well-known channel, to be shown next year.
“More details when we are allowed to announce this.”
Locals have expressed their excitement on social about the filming taking place at Scone.

Perthshire has become a favoured location for film and TV production crews in recent years, with the likes of Outlander, a Star Wars offshoot and a Disney+ production shooting scenes in the region.
