Perform in Perth secretary Michael Jameson has paid tribute to brass adjudicator Bruce Fraser who has passed away.
Mr Fraser, composer, adjudicator, teacher and conductor, had been due to come to the Perth festival for the second year running but died last month aged 69.
“He was well-respected in the brass band world,” said Mr Jameson.
Mr Fraser’s conducting career started in the early 1980s with Buckhaven and Methill Band. He later worked with a number of Scottish bands including Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and more latterly City of Discovery and Dysart Colliery.
For many years he was head of music at Buckhaven High School
Mr Jameson said the festival was indebted to Bryan Allan and Richard Chester MBE who stepped in to adjudicate the brass classes.
