The level of performance shown by children who took part in this year’s Perform in Perth has been praised by one of its committee members.
Michael Jamieson, secretary of the Perthshire Musical (Competition) Festival Association, highlighted the level of work put in by the school teachers.
He said: “Saturday evening saw the culmination of two weeks of excellent performances.
“The winner of the Larg Instrumental Class was Tom Gray (alto saxophone), of Breadalbane Academy and the winner of the Premier Class was Alexander Wallace (piano), from Glenalmond College.
“The standard of performance is rising every year and this must be attributed to the outstanding and dedicated tuition received in schools in both the state and private sectors.”
This year’s competition was the 93rd music festival.
