Officers say the elderly man was targeted in the Marine Avenue area between 3pm and 3.30pm on Friday. It is thought he was helped by passers-by but then left the scene. He is described as being white and in his 70s, around 5’6”-5’8” with a stocky build. He was wearing a light brown hat and a light brown zip-up jacket. Anyone with information is asked to phone 101.
