Festival of House unveils full line-up for Angus event

Festival director Craig Blyth has hailed feedback from an open days for the event.
Festival director Craig Blyth has hailed feedback from an open days for the event.

Scotland’s newest music festival has revealed its full line-up for a weekend of electronic music this summer.

Festival of House has announced more performers for the event and confirmed which acts will perform on each day on June 10 and 11.

The line-up was announced as organisers held an open day for suppliers and businesses in Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Thursday.

This followed a residents’ open day last month, at which organisers enjoyed a “lively exchange” with supporters and objectors.

Concerns have been raised about wildlife and infrastructure at the Panmure Estate, which festival chiefs have sought to alleviate.

Director Craig Blyth said he was “delighted” by feedback from that event.

“The first residents open day earlier this month was positively received and we enjoyed many enthusiastic conversations with people from all parts of the community,” he said.

“We had a total of 100 attendees and received 53 completed questionnaires.”

Of these, 19 were not supportive, 10 were undecided and 24 supportive.

Mr Blyth announced Friday’s headline act will be Rudimental, with other acts that day including Hackney Collective, Leftfield, Hacienda Classical, Sasha and Mike Pickering.

Underworld headline on Saturday alongside Grammy-winning artist Dubfire and top DJ Dixon.

Organisers also announced “a raft of the finest local electronic talent” over the weekend.

Dundee nightclub Reading Rooms will present “the small town woodland tent” with the likes of Autodisco, Book Club and Ctrl Alt Defeat all confirmed.

For co-organisers the Rhumba Club, who celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, director Wayne Dunbar said: “We couldn’t be happier about welcoming so many of our friends from across Scotland to the festival in June.

“This new announcement includes many of the country’s leading lights in electronic music, who deliver great nights in Scotland week in week out.”
