A SECOND batch of dead birds has been found on Arbroath Beach.
Four geese and six pigeons were said to have been washed up on the beachfront only two weeks after local Kevin Murray made a similar find there earlier this month.
The mystery surrounding the appearance of the dead birds deepened when it was suggested that a bag of what appeared to be bird’s innards were also found next to creatures.
Mr Murray said: “They look to have been dumped there as there are lots of feathers on the path. Also it looks as though there is a bag of innards beside them.
“I cannot understand what is going on as it now looks as though they have been dumped there. I consider this animal cruelty.”
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs was investigating the previous incident but it is understood the bodies of the birds may have been swept out to sea yesterday afternoon.
Experts with Defra said that storms could change bird migration patterns which could have resulted in the creatures being stranded.
