Bloodied man walked into stranger’s house and suggested rolling a joint

A bleeding man walked into a stranger’s house before rummaging in a drawer for cigarette papers, a court has heard.
John Hodge was so intoxicated that he thought he was in someone else’s home and then offered to roll the shocked homeowner a joint.
Depute fiscal Laura Bruce told the court: “At 7.30am the occupier heard knocking at her front door and assumed it was her next door neighbour.
“She opened the door and saw the accused, who she did not know, and who appeared to be heavily under the influence of drugs.
“He had blood on face and was bleeding from his nose.
“He walked into the living-room and was asking for cigarette skins.
“He said: ‘Find us some skins and I’ll roll us a joint’.”
Hodge, 44, admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by entering the home uninvited, while under the influence of drugs and with blood on his face, and without being known to the occupier rummaged through a drawer, repeatedly requested cigarette papers, and formed the opinion that he was in another address due to his intoxicated state, in Wedderburn Street on February 25.
Sentence was deferred until April 29.
