Dundee Sheriff Court.
A 29-year-old Dundee man bit and nipped his pregnant partner after a weekend-long drinking binge, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
Barry George Cairncross, 29, of Eastwell Close, started drinking when he went to the football, returning home drunk and continued into the following day.
Cairncross admitted that on October 20 last year within his flat, he assaulted Lisa Forsyth, then pregnant, by repeatedly biting and nipping her on the arms, to her injury.
The court heard Miss Forsyth had been in a relationship with Cairncross for around a year at the time of the offence and that she was 28 weeks pregnant.
Depute fiscal Laura Bruce said Cairncross had gone to Aberdeen to attend a football match the day before the assault and had been drinking, arriving home heavily intoxicated.
After an argument he fell asleep and he awoke the next day still under the influence so his partner left. When she returned that evening Cairncross was still drunk.
Later in bed, Cairncross “nipped her repeatedly on the arms,” the fiscal said.
“She reached for her mobile phone to text her mother and as she did so the accused bit her.”
Sentence was deferred until March 12.
