One of Dundee’s star tourist attractions played host to one of Italy”s top TV stars as he filmed a documentary in the city.
TV presenter Piero Angela (81) described as the Italian David Attenborough was filming an episode of science and history show SuperQuark at Discovery Point.
He was filming a documentary aboard the RRS Discovery based on Ernest Shackleton.
Kim Adamson of Dundee Heritage Trust, the operator of Discovery Point and Verdant Works, said the television crew had wanted to use the ship for its historical significance.
“The programme will be shown in Italy so it will show Dundee and the RRS Discovery to a lot more people in another market.”
