‘I loved him with all my heart’ Wife pays tribute to Dundee dad killed in Magaluf fall

Craig and Lisa had been married for two years.
Craig and Lisa had been married for two years.

A Dundee father-of-three has died after falling from the 10th floor of a building in Spain.

Craig Knapp, 31, was on holiday with his family in Majorca when the accident happened on Monday.

Police in the holiday resort of Magaluf have begun an investigation into the tragedy.

Mr Knapp’s heartbroken family are now waiting to fly his body home.

His wife Lisa said she had loved her husband with “all her heart” and that he had lived for his children Craig, 12, Rhys, 6 and four-year-old Dara.

She said: “He was a much-loved man, a devoted husband and a really good dad. He will be missed by many.”

Lisa said the whole family were struggling to cope with their sudden loss.

“We are all still in shock and disbelief. Our main priority is to get him home and lay him to rest properly. We just want him home.”

The couple, who lived in Whitfield, had been married for two years.

Lisa paid tribute to her husband’s kind nature and his zest for life, saying: “He was a lovely man. He always wanted to make people happy.

“Craig lived, worked and breathed for his kids. He was a devoted dad. He would do anything for his family.

“He was just a happy-go-lucky guy. He was always the life and soul of the party.

“He loved playing the guitar and he always knew the right thing to say. I loved him with all my heart.”

Tributes to Mr Knapp, who was an HGV driver, have been posted online and hundreds of people have joined a Facebook group called RIP Craig Knapp.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesman confirmed the embassy had been informed of the tragedy.

He said: “We were notified about the death of a British national in Majorca on July 8.

“We are standing by to provide consular assistance to the family.”

Several UK citizens have died in falls from hotels in Majorca in recent years.
