Kingdom Shopping Centre does its best to make life a beach for visitors

With the great Scottish weather as reliable as ever, visitors to Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes are being guaranteed sunshine of a sort at the venue’s new indoor beach.

Lyon Square in the centre has been transformed into a beach for a month, complete with large-scale sand pit, palm trees, pirate ship bouncy castle and even a surf simulator giving shoppers the chance to get away from it all for a bit, even on a rainy July afternoon.

The sand pit and surf simulator are free of charge and on-the-spot prizes are being handed out for the most impressive sandcastles.

The beach will be open daily from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays until August 14.
