Police have issued a fresh appeal for help in finding a Glenrothes man on the eve of the second anniversary of his disappearance.
Allan Bryant, 25, never returned home from a night out in his home town and has not been seen since the early hours of November 3 2013.
Officers investigating the case believe that the answer to the mystery lies in the community and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Police Scotland’s plea came after a massive car rally was staged to mark Tuesday’s anniversary and show support for Mr Bryant’s heartbroken family.
Detective Inspector Stuart Wilson said: “Allan’s disappearance has had a devastating effect on his family and we urgently request anyone who can help us trace him to come forward.
“The search and inquiry into Allan’s disappearance continues and we are totally committed to finding him.
“Throughout our investigation we have been supported and assisted by many of Allan’s family and friends who turned out to help search for Allan.

“We are grateful too that Allan’s family have been supported by so many local people a testament to the Glenrothes community spirit and the willingness to help.
“We still believe that someone in the local area will have a vital piece of information that can help us bring the Bryant family the answers they crave.
“We would really like that person to get in touch with us.”
A new poster has been created for distribution throughout Glenrothes in an effort to gather information.
Hundreds of people turned out as motorists drove in convoy through Glenrothes last night for the second rally in tribute to car enthusiast Mr Bryant.
They passed by Styx nightclub in Caskieberran Road where he was on a night out when he was seen for the last time.
CCTV footage shows him outside the venue at 2am.
Despite extensive searches by police, volunteers and the family there has been no breakthrough in the investigation and police said no evidence had been found of suspicious circumstances.
