A drunken incident at a Dunfermline nightspot saw a former worker attempt to punch a doorman.
Angus Pauline, 28, of Alma Street, Inverkeithing, admitted that on October 25 last year at The Brasshouse, Carnegie Drive, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by attempting to enter the venue having been ejected, shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence.
He also admitted attempting to punch security staff member Michael Syme.
Depute fiscal Kyrsten Buist said Pauline had been having a night out and was under the influence of alcohol when he became involved in a “disagreement” with another customer at around 1.30am.
Both were escorted out of the premises by door staff. However, shortly afterwards, Pauline tried to get back in and when stopped told a doorman, “I’m going to knock you out.” He attempted to punch Mr Syme but missed.
Defence solicitor Russel McPhate said his client had very little recollection of the events.
“He used to work at the premises and is known to management and staff,” he added.
Sheriff Charles MacNair said: “Drunken behaviour of this sort in or in the vicinity of licensed premises must always be dealt with very seriously.”
Pauline had a previous conviction for a similar offence he said. A 120 hour community payback order was imposed.
