Residents of a Fife caravan site were forced to evacuate after a car plunged down a steep embankment before coming to rest in a perilous position above the park.
People staying at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park in Kinghorn were evacuated in the early hours of Saturday while fire service crews released a man from the car and recovered the vehicle.
Police said a woman had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Fire appliances from Burntisland and Lochgelly were called to the scene at around 1.20am. It is understood people were asked to leave five caravans as a precaution.
Charles Brown (70), who was among those affected, said he had just returned from the holiday park’s end-of-season party.
”It was directly above my car so first of all I was asked to move my car,” he said. ”A bit later the police came to the door and said they’d like to evacuate us.”
Mr Brown said he and around 10 other caravan residents took refuge in the park’s hotel.
He added: ”Where the car was, it would never have hit the caravan, but it could have hit the car. It would never have gone that far, but because of health and safety they have got to do things like that.”
