The final details of Stonehaven’s Hogmanay party starring rock legends Simple Minds have been released.
The Market Square arena opens its gates at 8.30pm with the famous group taking to the stage before the bells and playing on until 12.45am.
Radio presenter Harry Butler of Original 106 will act as compere and DJ for the night with a string of Scottish acts propping up the bill.
The first support act, Trail West, will be on stage at 8.45pm, followed by Searching For Donkeys from Inverness, who won their slot after beating 14 other contestants at a Battle of the Bands in Aberdeen’s Blue Lamp pub.
Scots 11-piece pipe rock band theDangleberries will then take the stage before main attraction Simple Minds, who will play up to the celebrations on the hour with lone piper Alexander Sanger, pipe major of Lathallan School pipe band, taking the stage at midnight.
A few tickets are still available from www.oaits.org and bar vouchers can be bought in advance from the Royal Hotel reception at various times leading up to the event.
