A major wrestling showdown is to be brought to a ring in Fife for the first time this weekend.
Two local competitors will be hoping to get the support of the crowd when Scottish Wrestling Entertainment comes to Cupar on Saturday.
Cupar Carnage at Elmwood College will see Ian Ambrose, otherwise known as All Night, and ‘Mr News’ Alan Smith take on SWE heavyweight champion Chaz Phoenix in the main event.
SWE puts on family friendly shows across Tayside but this is its first venture into Fife.
Cupar Carnage is another stop on the road to Hell 4 Lycra, Scotland’s largest independent wrestling bout of the year, in the Bonar Hall in Dundee on August 27.
SWE founder and promoter David Low said, “For years we have put on sell-out shows across Angus, Dundee and Perthshire and we’ve also wanted to test the waters in Fife.
“When the chance of staging an event in Elmwood College arose, we absolutely jumped at it.
“We take pride in putting on fantastic shows and know that Cupar will be no different. And to have two local guys competing in the main event will just top the show off nicely hopefully the crowd will get right behind them and make a lot of noise.”
Mr News is also looking forward to testing his mettle in his home town.
He said, “Having been part of the SWE for two years now, I’ve had the chance to perform in front of crowds across Tayside and I absolutely can’t wait to bring wrestling back to Cupar.
On Saturday former tag team champions Bravehart and Claymore will also continue their heated feud, which has been rumbling on since August.
Doors open at 6.45pm with the first bell at 7.30.
