Radical Independence Campaign says support for Yes soaring in poorer areas

Support for a Yes vote is soaring in “working-class communities”, including parts of Dundee and Fife, according to the Radical Independence Campaign.

Charleston in Dundee was singled out by RIC, which says it canvassed 1,807 people in the area 51.2% were Yes voters, 19.3% Nos and 29.1% don’t knows.

Of the 339 people surveyed in Kirkcaldy, 54% said Yes, 24% No and 22% were undecided.

Robin McAlpine, director of the left-wing Common Weal, said: “This movement is carrying out the biggest voter registration campaign Scotland has ever seen to make sure those who say they are going to vote Yes inScotland’s poorest communities are mobilised to do so.”
