Twins who mocked the brutal murder of Fife tot Madison Horn have been branded “vile, nasty people” by her auntie.

Sharon Brown was visibly shocked when told of the disgusting Facebook post which appeared on the profiles of Glasgow twins Calvin and Calum Borland just days after Kevin Park had been convicted of the two-year-old’s murder.

Prosecutors believe a broken pool cue may have been used in her attack and the callous 19-year-olds shared an image of Madison with a caption “Game a pool?”.

Speaking from her home in Kelty, Sharon said: “They do not know this family, they do not know what we have been going through.

“They have no right to comment, never mind something as horrible as that.”

Sharon said the family and everyone who knew Madison were “heartbroken enough as it is”.

She added: “Why would anyone want to add to that grief by doing something like this?

“This is despicable.”

Madison’s mother Ann Marie is still unable to come to terms with the tragedy which unfolded at the family home in Kelty on Easter Sunday.

Sharon said she should be left in peace to grieve.

“She is in bits, she is an absolute mess because of what happened,” she said.

“All the family, her friends and folk in Kelty have been standing by her.

“But then there is this it is absolutely disgusting, it is just horrible.”

Sharon said the trolls could not see the pain everyone was going through.

“I see Ann Marie every day and it breaks my heart as there is nothing I can do to help her.

“These people are just needing to leave the girl in peace and leave the bairn in peace.

“What nasty, vile people they are.”

It is not known who first created the picture of Madison which has been shared across Facebook.

But it has horrified those closest to the tragic tot.

It is believed Madison’s father, Thomas Haldane, was left feeling suicidal when he spotted the sick stunt.

Using Facebook, the Ballingry man dubbed the pair “sick, evil people”.

When contacted by The Courier, the Haldane family declined to comment.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We have been made aware of this and we are making enquiries to identify the source and to determine if there is anything criminal involved.”
