Police investigating the disappearance of a missing Glenrothes man believe a woman seen in his company may hold the key to revealing his whereabouts.

Wayne Fleming, known as Bagsy, was reported missing two weeks ago.

Officers investigating the case are now seeking a woman who was seen in the 39-year-old’s company around the time of his disappearance.

She is described as being around 25-years-old with long, blonde hair and was seen in the company of a man matching Wayne’s description in Leven town centre between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday, July 4.

She was wearing a short denim skirt or shorts, white and pink Nike Air Max trainers and carrying a Lidl shopping bag at the time.

Police Inspector Derek Paxton, who is leading the inquiry said: “We are keen to speak to this woman to find out if she has seen Wayne or knows where he might be. I’d like to emphasise she is not in any kind of trouble.

“This is just one avenue we are following up in our efforts to trace Wayne and reunite him with his family.”

“We would encourage anyone who might have information to contact us on 101 or via the Missing People charity.”

Wayne is described as white, of stocky build, 5ft 3in with blue eyes, black shaved hair and a tattoo of a mushroom on his arm.

He is believed to frequent Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.
