St Andrews University is putting on an ‘Open for All’ marquee during the Open where members of the public can eat, drink, play golf simulators, buy golf stuff and generally have a great time.
It will be located in a prime location on Lower College Hall Lawn along The Scores.
With free entry, it will be open between Thursday and Sunday from noon to midnight (1am on Friday and Saturday) with a barbeque, beer, ice cream, live entertainment, a ceilidh, children’s activities and Open golf coverage.
As the host local authority Fife Council will be present at the event, alongside partners Fife Golf Partnership and St Andrews Links Trust, and will be promoting the area to the thousands of visitors attending.
The Fife stand will be open throughout the week, with staff on hand to give visitors information about golf and attractions and facilities the Kingdom has to offer.
There will be different activities every day to entice people on to the stand including food tastings with local produce to tie in with Scotland’s Year of Food and drink and the chance to win a short break in Fife.
