Investigations have begun into the death of salmon on a tributary of the River Tay.
Officers from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) were notified of the possible contamination of St Martin’s Burn, between Collace Quarry and Waulkmill, on Friday evening.
Duty officers discovered a number of dead fish and took samples of the fish and the water.
Their inquiries continued over the weekend to discover the cause of the incident and identify the origin of any pollution.
A spokeswoman for SEPA said: ”We are working closely with the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board and we will continue to investigate.
”We should know more over the course of the next week.”
