Dundee TV personality Lorraine Kelly is to quit her role on ITV’s Daybreak sofa to concentrate on her own show.
The Broughty Ferry-based celebrity is to present Lorraine five days a week after she signed a new deal with ITV for another three years.
She has spent 30 years at ITV, the last two of them doing the morning show.
Lorraine said: “I’m delighted to have signed up for another three years at ITV. I thought long and hard about staying on at both shows but have decided I really want to focus on my own show.”
Lorraine currently hosts her show between Mondays and Thursdays but Kate Garraway has stepped in on Fridays.
Her replacement on Daybreak will be announced soon.
One Daybreak fan said: “It’s the end of an era. Lorraine has been a fixture of my early morning viewing for years now, and although she hasn’t gone far, it won’t be the same.
“Her bubbly smile was as much a start to the day as my morning coffee.”
