Coming up in Thursday’s Courier fat cats, adopted dogs and a skydiving gecko

It is our great pleasure to introduce to you, dear reader, the Dundee woman who has taken a dog for a wok.

Or rather from the wok.

It may have cost hundreds of pounds, but local lady Angie Fox has finally caught a stricken hound which captured her heart after she saw it in Phuket.

She fell in love with the pooch and eventually flew it all the way to Dundee, freeing it from a cage and a reluctant future role in Thailand’s dog meat trade.

It’s a heartwarming tale, which is always most welcome.

And the animal magic does not stop with one crafty canine. Heck no. We also have news of a fat Dundee cat. Possibly not so heartwarming, but certainly most entertaining.

Frankly, I am not sure if this one is heartwarming or not really, but in addition to all that we have details of a skydiving gecko. Marvelous.

Back to humans (arguably) and our political editor Kieran Andrews enjoyed/endured (delete as applicable, Keezo) another busy day, and indeed evening.

Gordon Brown (former PM and prominent Fifer, don’t you know) was in Dundee on Wednesday where he took no time (or at least very little) in throwing himself into the independence debate fray. Kieran takes the greatest of great pleasure in bringing you all the latest. It’s his job. But also his passion.

Meanwhile, the Queen has made a speech. Jolly interesting stuff. Not to mention the source material for some really lovely pictures.

A winning Wednesday awaits our readers. Make sure you are numbered among them. If paper doesn’t float your news-hungry boat, why not jump aboard the good ship online by giving our digital edition a whirl?
