East Fife v Annan: Naysmith looking for more consistency
ByCraig Smith
East Fife boss Gary Naysmith admits his side are at a crossroads in their campaign to get back into League One at the first time of asking.
The Fifers, who host Annan at Bayview, have won three but lost four of their opening eight fixtures, and currently sit in mid-table as the first quarter of the season draws to a close.
The Methil men have already shown they are capable of the kind of form that will see them there or thereabouts at the right end of the table come May, having picked up 10 points from a possible 12 last month a run that saw Naysmith pick up the League Two Manager of the Month award.
But their recent run of good results came to a frustrating halt as they were beaten at home by Clyde last time out.
With that in mind, Naysmith has challenged his squad to find some consistency and back up their promotion push with victories.
Naysmith said: “Are we just going to meander through and hit the play-offs or are we going to have a right run at it and go for top spot?
“We’re now eight behind Arbroath, so there’s no point beating around the bush because it’s now up to them to throw it away and start giving up points.”
