A hat-trick by in-form Livingston striker Rory Boulding put Raith Rovers to the sword as the Fifers’ relegation worries heightened.

A bright start from the hosts was extinguished after a controversial penalty award, Boulding converting the sport-kick.

The 23-year-old doubled his tally on the stroke of half-time, before claiming the match ball by putting the finishing touch to a splendid counter attack after the break.

The pacy attacker has now netted eight goals in just four matches.

An entertaining affair also saw the woodwork struck on three separate occasions.

John McGlynn’s side will now be forced to cast nervous glances at Somerset Park this evening, as they contemplate the prospect of slipping back into a relegation playoff position should Ayr United defeat SPL-bound Ross County.
