Dundee boss John Brown has urged fans to get behind the team’s title challenge through thick and thin following his blast at the boo boys earlier this week.
Bomber, unhappy with a section of the Dens Park faithful during the 3-0 win over Dumbarton, takes his team to face promotion rivals Raith Rovers and has called on all supporters to display a united front to boost the Dark Blues’ Championship hopes.
If Dundee fall short in their bid to bounce straight back into the top flight, Brown insists he will be first to take the flak.
He told Courier Sport: “If they want to have a gripe then wait until the end of the season and then they can have a gripe at me, if we don’t achieve what we hope to.
“They can vent out on me then but in the meantime support the team from now until the end of the season.
“The true supporters are those when things aren’t going your way they stick by you.
“There is nobody going out there wanting to underperform, so I would urge the support to get right behind the boys in the hard times and not just the good times.
“The travelling support have been fantastic and the majority of fans at Dens Park have been the same. I’m just highlighting a few voices the players can hear.
“They’re wondering if they’re booing at them or what’s happening. It’s part and parcel of what you have to take in football.
“We all hold our hands up when we don’t get the right results or performances.”
Brown has warned his side to expect a backlash from Rovers who he reckons will be “kicking themselves” after going down 3-0 at Livingston on Saturday.
“One thing about them is that they are right in your face, from the first minute to the last, so we’ve got to compete in that area to get any joy,” he added.
Winger Nicky Riley has been ruled out after tweaking his calf in training and suspended Iain Davidson will not feature against his former club following his sending off against Alloa.
