New Arbroath assistant manager Todd Lumsden has praised Rangers for getting his management career back on track.
Lumsden was dismissed as manager of Albion Rovers last summer and faced an uncertain future in the game until a phone call from Rangers’ Youth chief Jimmy Sinclair got him back in work.
Lumsden was appointed coach of Rangers’ under-17 side, and it was with a heavy heart he has opted to leave Murray Park and join his long-time friend Allan Moore, who has been appointed boss at Gayfield.
He said: “Rangers gave me a chance a year ago and I will always be grateful for that. I thought that after 20 years I was finished in football when I left Coatbridge.”
He added: “I loved my time there and working within an elite academy has been a fantastic experience.”
