Michael O’Halloran is in no rush to leave St Johnstone, and wants to help the Perth club into another cup final.

The winger, who has been named the Ladbrokes Premiership player of the month for November, has been the subject of recent transfer speculation as the January window starts to loom large.

But leaving McDiarmid Park at the turn of the year isn’t in his thoughts.

“First and foremost, I’m enjoying my time here,” he said. “I’m a St Johnstone player. I’m just knuckling down and concentrating on playing for them at the moment.

“We are doing well in the league and we’ve got a semi-final to look forward to. So I am enjoying myself here.

“I have got good advice from my agent and my dad. Sometimes I need a wee bit of guidance what to do and what’s the best for me.

“It’s nice to know you have always got people there to help you and I think so far I’ve made some good decisions.

“I don’t really have a plan. I just take things as they come.

“If there is a chance to get into a final why wouldn’t you want to stay here and play?”

The former Bolton Wanderers man admitted that returning to England is a long-term career goal.

“You have to be ambitious and I don’t know what will happen in the future,” he said.

“At some point in the future I would like to go back down there and give it another crack.

“If the opportunity came it would be nice. In football you have to aim as high as you can.

“No-one has come calling yet and it’s all just speculation.”
