Scotland set pace with two more wins women’s curling championships

Eve Muirhead and her Scottish rink continued their winning streak with two more victories at the Ford World Women’s Championships in Swift Current, Canada.
The Scots followed up a last-stone 6-5 win over Finland with a 7-1 six-end defeat of Russia and now lead the round-robin rankings.
After the Russia game Muirhead said: “We played great.
“We got off to a good start. We played a good first end but she managed to cut us to just one and then in the second end we just piled the pressure on and she came up short with a draw to give us three.
“From then on, we had control of the game.
“You expect every game to go to last end, last stone, so we’re always ready for that but when you get a chance to finish off a game early, you’re going to take it every time.”
The Scots face Switzerland next.
