A teenage driver was taken to hospital after a car flipped on to its roof near the Tay Road Bridge on Sunday morning.
The car sustained significant damage, but police said the 19-year-old male driver suffered only minor injuries.
The accident happened at around 11am and northbound lanes of the A92 were restricted while the incident was dealt with. The route fully reopened shortly after 1pm.
The driver was taken to Ninewells within five minutes of the crash by a passing ambulance on its way to hospital.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called out to an incident where a car was on its roof.
“But an ambulance passing the scene with another patient on board was able to stop and carry the casualty to hospital within five minutes.”
An eyewitness said he saw a large police presence at the scene.
The man, who did not wish to be named, said: “It looked like it was quite a big accident.
“A car is on its roof at the side of the carriageway but I don’t know how it happened.
“The conditions may have had a part to play as it is very wet and quite windy. I hope everyone involved avoided serious injury.”
