The father of a missing Glenrothes man has spoken of the “living nightmare” his family are going through every day.
Allan Bryant has feared for some time his son Allan Jr is dead.
However, as police released a new missing person poster to mark three months since he was last seen, Mr Bryant told The Courier he would “not give in until he is found”.
The 24-year-old was last seen during the early hours of Sunday November 3 leaving Styx nightclub on Caskieberran Road.
Security camera footage shows him leaving the venue at 2.02am.
Speaking from his home in the Macedonia area of Glenrothes, Mr Bryant said: “The police are still looking for leads.
“If anyone has got information I would still urge them to come forward. But this is a living nightmare for us day in day out. I am counting the days.
“Allan is the last thing I think about every time I go to sleep, I dream about my son every night, I think about him 24/7.
“It’s very difficult for Marie and for my daughter, who’s just nine. She’s still crying all the time.”
Mr Bryant noted the official police line was that there was no evidence of foul play.
But he added: “You can’t just vanish from a nightclub. Someone must know something. Personally I think the worst has happened, although the police won’t admit it.
“What we need is closure and I won’t let the police give in so long as he is missing.
“You can’t go on with your life not knowing what happened to your son.”
The new missing person poster, issued by the police yesterday, again asks people to check and to keep checking sheds, garages and outdoor buildings for Allan.
Police acknowledge the family have experienced increasing frustration as the mystery continues, and officers recently held a meeting to update them on the efforts to find him.
Chief Inspector Derek McEwan, who is overseeing the inquiries to trace Allan, said: “This is one of the largest missing person searches ever conducted in Fife and has seen specialist resources including helicopter, divers and search dogs used.
“We would ask everyone who has any type of outdoor structure in their garden or land to check it again, even if they have already done so, and to regularly check it for any sign of Allan.
“His family are, understandably, desperate for any news about Allan or his whereabouts and I would once again ask that anyone who has any information to call Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
