Tastebuds tickled as crowds flock to Crail Food Festival

Thousands of people had their tastebuds tickled at the third Crail Food Festival over the weekend.

A turn in the weather failed to dampen spirits as crowds flocked to the two-day event to try out a range of delicacies.

Food and drinks firms and representatives from the region’s music scene were in the village for the event.

On Saturday, around 30 food businesses hosted an indoor market, giving visitors the chance to sample produce such as smoked meats, local cheeses, pies and chutneys.

Distiller Spencerfield Spirits also held an afternoon of whisky nosing and gin tasting.

The action moved outdoors yesterday for the open air harbour festival, where food offerings included a lobster shack, a bike making smoothies and a pizza oven in a horse box.

Festival founder Graham Anderson said the event gave people the chance to sample Fife’s finest food.

“We’ve been working really hard to improve and expand the festival programme and this year, there was music, demonstrations and street food.”
