Fans begin to gather oitside Ibrox ahead of Rangers' friendly with Newcastle
Rangers have announced the appointment of Norman Crighton as a non-executive director.
The 47-year-old Dundonian is described in a club statement as being “involved in most aspects of investment banking during the course of his 23-year career” who will chair a new Investment Committee “whose terms of reference will include overseeing capital projects”.
Crighton’s appointment comes amid an ongoing boardroom battle and a week after David Somers was appointed as a non-executive director and acting chairman.
Both men will be up for reappointment at the club’s annual general meeting which will take place at Ibrox on December 19.
They will be up against a group which includes former chairman Malcolm Murray, former director Paul Murray, Scott Murdoch and Alex Wilson, who all want to join the board.
Dundee chief executive Scot Gardiner has also been linked with a move to the Ibrox club.
