The UK’s ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras is to quit the role to take up a new high-profile position promoting scotch whisky.
Sarah Dickson will head up the Scotch Whisky Association’s new London office, which is due to open next month.
Ms Dickson’s new role will be to build and extend the association’s international influence and contacts, reduce exporting barriers and position the organisation as one with broad international credibility on the importance of free trade and open markets.
“I will develop the association’s sterling work in trade policy and build its presence in London with the help of a strong team,” Ms Dickson said.
The SWA has also appointed Graeme Littlejohn as its new head of external affairs in London.
He previously ran the office of the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
