Seabed engineering firm Subsea 7 announces a $135 million deal to install a pipeline for a new North Sea oil and gas field.
The London-headquartered engineering, construction and service group, which has an office in Aberdeen and manufacturing site in Wick, said it would supply the new Fram field with a pipeline bundle.
The 4.5km pipeline system which is expected to be 44 inches in diameter, with integrated manifolds and tie-in structures will be designed, fabricated and installed by Subsea, with work starting at both sites immediately.
The field, about 220km east of Aberdeen, is expected to produce around 35,000 barrels of oil equivalent each day, from eight production wells with water reinjection and two drill centres.
Bundle engineering work will take place at Subsea 7’s Wester Site fabrication yard in Wick, while offshore operations are scheduled to begin next year.
