Fife firms have returned from a show with potentially millions of pounds worth of contracts.

The delegation of companies exhibiting at this month’s All Energy show in Aberdeen has returned, reporting impressive results.

Exhibiting under the Fife banner, they gathered over 300 notes of interest from organisations visiting the show, which highlights Fife’s expertise in renewables.

Fife environment, enterprise and transportation chairman Tony Martin said, “This has been an excellent show for the companies and their employees.

“While it is too early to say precisely what the value of the orders will be, businesses on the stand are anticipating the show has brought in new contracts running into millions of pounds.”

Of the 12 firms on the Fife group stand, nine were at All Energy for the first time, with Fife Market Development Programme support.

FACTs Precision, Narvida, Oceaneering, Hydrosphere, McGregor McMahon and Associates, PDMD Electrical Services and Houstons of Cupar joined established names such as Burntisland Fabrications, Carnegie College and Invest in Fife team.

Dale Caton of Narvida said, “This is the first time Narvida has been invited to join the Fife Group Stand at the All-Energy exhibition.

“We had a lot of interest in our products from customer and supplier sides, with high potential for future work. We will be interested to join the Fife stand again.”

The region’s economic strategy aims to develop Fife as a centre of excellence for renewable energy, with the potential of up to 28,000 people being employed in the Scottish Offshore Wind sector alone by 2020.
