A Montrose woman has made it through to the last 100 of a global singing talent search being judged by international popstars.

Jenna White (26) is now one step away from the semi-finals in Hollywood.

Avon Voices is searching for two extraordinary female singers with that special something to record a professionally produced album. Up to 10 finalists will join Avon Voices celebrities to sing and record the Avon Voices Anthem, an original song by Diane Warren.

Jenna was the only Scot to make it through to the first round after becoming one of 182 women chosen from 600 entries to proceed in the competition.

She’s just made it through another stage of the competition and now hopes her fellow Scots will do everything they can to ensure she makes it into the top 25.

“I have got through to the next round!” beamed a delighted Jenna. “There are now just 100 girls left and at the end of this round it will be down to 25 which is the semi-final.

“Whoever gets through will be travelling to Hollywood, so the competition is really heating up.

“To have the support of Scotland would be amazing and would help me immensely, especially as I am the only Scot in the competition I need my country to back me on this!”

The winning anthem will be available to buy, with a percentage of proceeds donated to the Avon Foundation for Women for its campaign to end violence against women.

Jenna, originally from St Andrews, is urging people across Tayside and Fife to help her to achieve her dream of making the final.

Voting takes place on the Avon website and the contest is being partly judged by a panel which includes Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Natasha Bedingfield, Delta Goodrem and other songwriters and producers from all over America.Visit www.avonvoices.com for more information and to vote.
