Mitsubishi has released teaser pics of its upcoming mid-size SUV, the Eclipse.
A rival to the Nissan Qashqai, the Eclipse will be revealed in full at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The name hearkens back to the Eclipse sports car which racked up 1.4 million sales for Mitsubishi from the 1980s onwards.
The pics Mitsubishi has put out don’t give the full game away. They do show a car with a chiselled nose, sloping rear roofline and steeply raked rear window. A chunky roof spoiler and one-piece rear taillight are also evident
Its engine line-up is expected to bring a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol as well as Mitsubishi’s current 2.2-litre diesel along with CVT and manual transmissions and all-wheel drive.
There’s no word yet on spec and prices so look out for details at Geneva.
The Eclipse is expected to go on sale in the UK at some point in the latter half of 2017.
